ACE Hoops is a basketball club running leagues, camps, an academy, and competitive club teams across several age divisions. Reel Edge Media designed, built, and continues to maintain their WordPress website at acehoops.net — including a custom sponsorship platform built specifically for how a community sports club actually operates.
The Challenge
A club this size juggles a lot of moving parts: team rosters across boys’ and girls’ divisions, program information, a tournament, a blog, and — critically — a roster of sponsors whose support keeps the club running. Managing all of that by hand is slow and error-prone. The club needed:
- A professional, easy-to-navigate site for families and players
- A real system for onboarding and showcasing sponsors, not a manual list
- Sponsor visibility that reflects how much each partner contributes
- Fast pages and clean SEO so the club is easy to find
- A site that’s resilient and easy to recover when something goes wrong
Our Solution
Reel Edge Media built ACE Hoops a custom WordPress site on a tailored league-management theme, then developed a purpose-built sponsorship plugin to handle the part of the club’s operation that mattered most — its partners.
Custom Sponsor Management Platform
We built the ACE Sponsors plugin from the ground up to run the club’s entire sponsorship program:
- Tiered sponsorships — Title, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels, each displayed with the right prominence
- Self-serve registration — sponsors apply through a custom form with logo upload, routed through an admin approval workflow
- Automated notifications — administrators are emailed the moment a new sponsor submits
- Dynamic sponsor walls — responsive, tier-ordered logo grids on team and club pages
- Sponsor spotlights — branded feature sections and automated, SEO-optimized spotlight blog posts for major partners
Team & Program Pages
We built dedicated pages for the club’s teams across boys’ and girls’ divisions, each with its own sponsor showcase, plus a clear navigation structure spanning Programs (leagues, camps, academy, open runs), Club Teams, Tournament, and Blog.
Performance & SEO
Uploaded images are automatically converted to WebP and compressed — cutting image file sizes by roughly 60–70% — with lazy loading and layout-stability safeguards for faster, smoother pages. SEO fields (meta titles, descriptions, and social/Open Graph tags) are managed across sponsor content and key pages so the club ranks and shares well.
Reliability & Recovery
Sports-club sites get edited by busy volunteers, so we built in safeguards: input validation and nonce protection on every form, secure file-upload handling, and recovery tooling that can rebuild the site’s navigation and sponsor content if something is accidentally changed or deleted.
